Built at the entrance of the Pieve of Gravedona ed Uniti, near the bridge over the Liro river, due to its position many passers-by would stop, wishing to recharge their spirits and refresh their bodies. This small religious building, once dedicated to the Madonna delle Fonti, was destroyed by the flooding of the Liro and after its restoration in the seventeenth century was dedicated to Sant’Abbondio, fifth Bishop of Como, protector of the Diocese and first organiser of the parishes of his territory.
