The church, dedicated to St Carlo Borromeo, was built in the seventeenth century in San Carlo, halfway up the mountain between Gravedona ed Uniti and Santa Croce. The building has a single nave with two side chapels and a rectangular presbytery. Inside, the high altar houses the altarpiece depicting “S. Carlo in Gloria” (St Charles in Glory) and rich stucco decorations; the left chapel houses the altarpiece representing the “Madonna Lauretana tra i Santi Lorenzo e Francesco” (Madonna of Loreto between Saints Lorenzo and Francis), while in the right chapel is the painting of “Crocifisso tra i SS. Bartolomeo e Rosalia” (Crucifixion with Saints Bartholomew and Rosalia) dated 1640 and painted by Stefano Lambri from Cremona.
