The Church of Santa Croce is documented for the first time in a pastoral visit by Bonomi in 1578, but its origins date back to a few centuries earlier. It rises high above Gravedona ed Uniti, in the hamlet of Naro, immersed in chestnut woods and with a breath-taking view of the lake.
The building itself is simple, but contains a precious apse frescoed by Sigismondo de Magistris in 1529, with images of the “Eternal Father with the Evangelists”, the “Apostles”, “Christ in Piety”, the “Annunciation”, and with decorations of St Rosalia and St Vincent on the external facades of the pillars. The right wall of the hall is adorned by a fresco of “Madonna Enthroned with Child among the Saints”, while the left wall has other frescoes of Saints (St Anthony, St Sebastian, St Rocco and St Lucia).
