Built in the 16th century, the small church of San Lorenzo stands on the remains of an old Renaissance chapel in Mossanzonico, Dongo.
The building features a single nave with two side chapels and a quadrangular presbytery and is characterised by a double pitched roof.
At the end of the sixteenth century, the church displayed a precious painted altarpiece depicting the “Vergine e il Bimbo fra S. Stefano e S. Lorenzo, S. Nicola e S. Antonio sormontati dall’ Eterno Padre” (Virgin and Child between St Stephen and St Lawrence, St Nicholas and St Anthony surmounted by the Eternal Father) and several ancient frescoes, which have now been lost except for a few small fragments.
