The walk "Colico: the town of the two forts" will take place on Sunday, 12th September. It's one of the 4 guided walks of the event "In the footsteps of the Wayfarer's Path - among knowledge and flavours". The walks are organized by the Pro Loco of the Eastern shore of Lake Como.
During the walk you'll visit monuments and places of interest with guides. The visits will be in Italian. On the walk you'll be accompanied by the CAI - Colico section hiking guides.
Programme:
- 8.15am: Meeting at the Infopoint Colico. Reserved parking for participants. Registrations and Coffee break.
- 9.30am: Start of the walk. From Piazza Garibaldi you'll walk along the lakeside promenade and in 60-80 minutes you'll reach the Fort Fuentes. Guided tour of the fort.
- 12pm: Lunch with own packed lunch.
- 1.30pm: Start of the walk towards Fort Montecchio Nord. Guided tour of the fort. Following possibility to visit the winery "Montecchio".
- 5.30pm/6pm: Return to Infopoint Colico.
Length: 8-9 Km
Difficulty: easy. Hiking clothing is recommended.
In case of bad weather the walk will be postponed to the first free Sunday after the others scheduled (Mid-October).
Price:
- Adults: € 10.00; the price includes any transfers, refreshments or a surprise at the end of the walk
- Children up to 14 years old: free
